Some things make iconic pairs – peanut butter and jelly, mac and cheese, wine and chocolate, champagne and chocolate, milk and chocolate, chocolate and art. Although not edible in nature, art pairs extremely well with chocolate.
This unique food and art show brings together chocolatiers, local artists and body painting, live music, face-painting and tons of creative energy all under one roof.
Nate Williams
“I started with the Chocolate and Art Show about 5 years ago.. before that I would exhibit with some different art associations but what I really liked about Chocolate and Art was the atmosphere they create. It’s fun and different. I also like the variety of people you meet,” he said.
Kaycie Day
“Since it is my first show altogether, I’m am beyond excited just to participate…I am new to the L.A area to further my career as an artist,” she said.
Kaycie currently tattoos at Rich Custom Tattoo in Glendale while continuing to work on her career as a painted/graphic artwork gallery artist.
Ralph Michael Brekan
“This is a real community event – they bring everyone together and [the Chocolate and Art Show] doesn’t allow mediocrity,” he said.
He sees potential in the Pasadena arts community and the hopes that more local venues will open their doors to artists and create community spaces.
Brekan will exhibit his work in the Zephyr Cafe in Pasadena this March and his work will focus on experimentation and draw from the California Assemblage pop art movement, commercial art movements of the 1960’s and 1970’s and the colors of abstract expressionism.
