This year’s Fall Benefit will be an exciting and entertaining evening with Dr. Ruth to support the mission of Planned Parenthood Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley.
Planned Parenthood Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley (PPPSGV) will present its Annual Fall Benefit on Sunday, October 4, 2015. And appearing for one night only is the legendary Dr. Ruth Westheimer, featured Keynote Speaker. The event begins at 6:30pm at the Langham Huntington Hotel.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Ruth to Pasadena,” says Sheri Bonner, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley. “She is a trailblazer in the field of reproductive health, empowering generations of women and men to have open and honest conversations about sex and sexual health.”
Dr. Ruth is best known for pioneering frank discussions about sex on radio and television. But that’s only a small part of her rich life story. Her early work at Planned Parenthood led her to pursue her studies in human sexuality, and she has been an unwavering supporter ever since.
Also featured at the Fall Benefit will be members of the Planned Parenthood health center staff and health education team, to share their moving and inspirational stories about the impact of Planned Parenthood’s work in our local community.
Welcoming more than 300 of Pasadena’s top philanthropists and community leaders, the Fall Benefit raises funds to support the work of Planned Parenthood Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley.
Each year, more than 40,000 patients count on Planned Parenthood Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley for birth control, cancer screenings, STI testing and treatment, screenings for common health conditions, annual exams, vaccines, and more. They provide over 500 hours of sexual health education and advocate for increased access to health care. All services are offered at low-to-no cost to individuals, families and schools.
Joan C. Caillouette, former Board member and long-time volunteer, will be serving her fifth consecutive year as Patron Chair. Joining her are Event Co-Chairs are Board members Karen Hillenburg and Yvonne Zaro.
