Eric Bjorgum has been named President of The Board of Directors of the Mural Conservancy of Los Angeles (“MCLAâ€).
Bjorgum, who practices law with Karish & Bjorgum, PC in Pasadena and Los Angeles, replaces MCLA co-founder Bill Lasarow as Board President. Lasarow stepped down as last year to focus on large scale funding projects for the group.
“I am very honored to be elected to represent my fellow Board members. This is an exciting time for public art in Los Angeles,” Bjorgum said. “The City recognizes public art, and awareness of its unique issues continues to grow. I’m grateful for the work of Bill Lasarow and Kent Twitchell as founders of MCLA. I look forward to working with them and the Board – and of course our executive director Isabel Rojas-Williams – in the coming months.â€
Bjorgum has been a full MCLA Board member for three years, and has done legal work for public artists such as Kent Twitchell, Will Herron III, Victor Henderson, Annie Sperling and the Estate of Terry Schoonhoven. In his new role, Bjorgum will be working closely with MCLA’s Executive Director Isabel Rojas Williams to carry out the Board’s directives.
MCLA is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. For more about the group, visit www.muralconservancy.org/
