The fashion and beauty industry is notorious for doing a number on women’s self-confidence. But, in a world filled with unrealistic standards and unreasonable high standards, one shop is empowering women to find their own beauty.
April Hicks, the founder of April Blooms, created this special space to give women a place to feel their best. As a hairstylist, salon owner, and cosmetology instructor, Hicks is familiar with the way many women compare themselves to unattainable beauty standards. She uses fashion as a tool of expression to help women feel and look their best.
April Blooms carries a variety of fashions, accessories and home decor. She makes sure to stock clothing in a variety of sizes and at an affordable price point. Hicks is passionate about supporting local artisans and carries a line of leather and many lines of jewelry created by local vendors. She focuses on comfortable; all ages fashions that encourage women to embrace their sense of style.
In addition to her passion for fashion, Hicks is also a strong advocate for women. A portion of all sales benefit victims of human trafficking both through A21 and Redeeming Love, which support women through prevention, advocacy, prosecution, and restoration.
April Blooms will host their first holiday party on Sunday, December 18 from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Stop by for shopping advice and light refreshments. April Blooms is located at 14 East Bellevue Drive. Visit www.aprilblooms.com for more information or call (626) 248-7816.
