Tucked into a cute corner of South Lake, you’ll find a charming sandwich and ice cream float shop called Float. “It’s funny that everyone else had a pumpkin spice latte so we decided to play on that with our float,” said Iris Lee, the owner of Float. Their Pumpkin Spice Float is deliciously different from any other pumpkin beverage you’ve had this season. The float features two generous scoops of Fosselman’s pumpkin ice cream, Boylan’s Creme Soda and a shot of espresso. The smooth Creme soda balances the rich pumpkin ice cream and the espresso is no joke. The float comes together after a few minutes and the flavors meld into a symphony of balanced pumpkin bliss. This is Float’s first year debuting the Pumpkin Spice Float along with other fall favorites like the Caramel Apple and Trick or Treat Float.

Float is located at 380 S Lake Ave #106, Pasadena. Phone: (626) 844-3488

This specialty cupcake bakery takes the art of cupcakes and ups the ante. In addition to traditional cupcakes, they have over 90 flavors of gluten-free and vegan cupcakes. Be sure to pre-order of call ahead if you’re looking for a particular flavor. “A lot of places lack the resources to make good vegan cupcakes…we just want as many people to enjoy our cupcakes as possible,” said Leanne Pena, Bakeshop Manager. This season, Yummy Cupcakes offers a Pumpkindoodle cupcake that combines the best of snickerdoodle and pumpkin with a delicate cinnamon sugar topping. The generously sized cupcake is not an overwhelmingly pumpkin but has subtle hints of fall. (Be on the lookout for their Turkey and Gravy cupcake debuting this November. OMG.)
