Have you been drinking and voting? If not, get out there and make some plans to start participating in the Pasadena’s SIP-tember voting challenge (as if anyone needs an excuse to enjoy a night out and try a new tasty cocktail, are we right?).
Round 3 just wrapped up and Round 4 is currently under way. Is your favorite still in? Believe it or not, there are only eight delicious refreshing cocktails left in the competition.
Bracket 1- Alondra’s Hot Wings Appellation versus Magnolia House’s Chloe Comes to Pasadena. The Appellation has fall written all over it. Honey Jack mixed with caramel, sour apple pucker and sweet & sour. It is then shaken and strained over ice. Chloe Comes to Pasadena is cool and delicious with Vodka, St. Germain mixed with fresh grapefruit juice, fresh lime and Campari.
Bracket 2- Green Street Restaurant is up with their Dos Amigos cocktail versus dusitD2 hotel Constance’s Dusit Delight. The Dos Amigos is mixed up with muddled raspberries, Don Julio Blanco Tequila, grapefruit juice, simple syrup, a hint of salt, and a splash of Blood orange Wit. The Dusit Delight is balance of Los Amantes Mezcal, Cointreau, Lemon, passion fruit, watermelon, agave, orange bitters, and is finished with an interesting sugar and pepper rim.
Bracket 3- This bracket is made up of two repeat winners. dusitD2 hotel Constance’s second competing cocktail is their bluRoom Mojito versus Alondra Hot Wings’ creation called The Guma. The aptly named bluRoom Mojito comes with cucumber, mint, Bacardi, creme de violette, lemon juice, and lychee liqueur. The Guma is a fruity mix of Malibu Rum, strawberry puree, pineapple juice, cranberry juice, Taijin, lime juice, and is rimmed with Chamoy and Taijin garnished with a lime wedge.
Bracket 4- White Horse Lounge offers up their Forbidden Sour against Ruth Chris’s Steak House’s Sparkling Peach Martini. The Forbidden Sour is Absinthe wash, organic maple syrup, organic fresh squeezed grapefuit juice stirred with egg white, Templeton rye whiskey and grapefruit bitters. This interesting cocktail is simply sinful. The Sparkling Peach Martini is made of Absolut Peach, peach schnapps, cranberry and fresh lime juice with a splash of Prosecco.
This is definitely a community event that you should take a part—while it’s still here!
