Local college football fans can celebrate the season and hoist a specialty drink that honors their favorite Los Angeles Pac-12 team.
Mixologist Melody Zeda, of the bluRoom Lounge at dusitD2 hotel constance pasadena, created the drinks and then named them after each team’s mascot — “Tommy Trojan” for USC and “Joe Bruin” for UCLA.
“College football is an integral part of the Pasadena experience,” Zeda said. “These drinks add some fun to the crosstown rivalry.”
As for the drinks themselves?
The Tommy Trojan is made with whiskey, lemon juice, agave and a red-wine float. It has a luxardo cherry and lemon garnish.
The Joe Bruin is composed with vodka, coconut rum, pineapple juice, blue curacao and a float of prosecco. It’s garnished with lemon and a gummy bear.
“The actual recipes are proprietary and can only be shared with those who come in to sample the cocktails,” Zeda said.
The bluRoom is located at the entrance of the dusitD2 hotel constance pasadena at 928 E. Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena.
