Everything in Old Pasadena, it seems, is being revamped. We’re regularly discovering new restaurants and shops popping up and it seems construction crews are always abuzz. Even some of the regulars are getting facelifts!
Located in the heart of Old Pasadena, at the intersection of Mills Place and Edwin Alley, the opening of the rebranded Edwin Mills modern tavern (formerly Equator Café) also marks the long-revered venue’s 22nd anniversary at 22 Mills Place.
The new menu ranges from bites and starters including specialty Mac ‘N Cheese with broccoli, Spicy Calamari or Crispy Tuna Tacos to “fist food’s” such as the Old Time Burger, spiced Pulled Pork Sandwich or The Alley Dog among others. The “Main Event” offerings include Chicken Piccata, Shepherd’s Pie, Pork Chops, Potato Wrapped Snapper and more.
And if you’re looking for a great happy hour, Edwin Mills might be your new go-to spot. Monday through Thursday, happy hour runs from 4 p.m. to close and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays. Saturday’s kick off the restaurant and bar’s Bottomless Weekends that include $10.00 all-you-can-drink Mimosas with brunch from 11:00am to 4:00pm.
Their grand opening is set for January 22nd. Falling on what they call “Thirsty Thursdays,” the occasion will be marked with a selection of Martinis, appetizers, mixed drinks and beer for only $3.00 each.
The location’s past tenants include a thriving marketplace, a stable, a mechanic shop, a storage space, and, ultimately, in 1993, Equator Café. And while a stable in Old Pasadena would be pretty neat, we’re glad the Equator Cafe isn’t really going anywhere– it’s just getting a little work done.
Edwin Mills, by Equator, is open Monday through Wednesday from 4:00pm and Thursday through Sunday beginning at 10:00am.
