168 Pasadena will welcome the Chinese New Year with luck as it offers special menu items, red envelope drawings, wine and sake specials, and a wishing tree from January 29 to February 5.
The special menu will include Half Peking Duck with steamed baos and hoisin sauce; Steamed Striped Bass steamed with ginger, sake and tamari soy sauce; and Grilled Veggie Baos.
The store’s Special Chinese New Year cocktails include Red Envelope (peach and cranberry), Lucky Buddha (pineapple) and Fortune Cookie. There will also be special wine and sake specials offered.
Every dinner guest will have a chance to draw a Chinese Red Envelope out of a bowl to win items from a free dessert or appetizer to a $25 gift certificate for their next visit.
168 Pasadena will display a wishing tree and will provide the customers with paper and ribbons to tie their wishes.
The Asian restaurant and lounge will also have a Chinese New Year-themed Club night on Friday, January 31 starting at 10:00 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in Red or in Asia-inspired party clothes.
168 Pasadena’s new happy hour, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., will offer food with prices as low as $3 to $5. The menu includes damame, bossam wrap, sweet potato french fries, “kurobuta” sausage and onions, and California and spicy tuna rolls.
Sake is $3, while beer and wine is $4 each.
