The spirit of Halloween was in the air on the evening of Friday, Oct. 28 at the historic Blinn House in Pasadena. From 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. the Altadena-Pasadena branch of Soroptimist International and the Women’s City Club of Pasadena joined forces to put on the “Spooktacular Soiree,” a fundraising Halloween party complete with Spanish tapas-style appetizers, pumpkin scavenger hunt, costume contest, photo booth, a wine toss and a dance lesson to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video.

For sports fans who preferred to watch the World Series that night, the “Man Cave,” a room with a large flat-screen TV, was available. A raffle featured gift cards in themed packages to Macy’s, Massage Envy Spa, California Pizza Kitchen and other popular venues. All in all, the Spooktacular Soiree was a great “Halloween party with a purpose.”

Altadena-Pasadena Soroptimist is a local chapter of an international organization whose mission is to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and around the world.
