Old Kilin Mill by Laurie Hendricks

At the Laurie Hendricks Gallery, 20 artists are presenting some of their finest works, in sizes meant to fit in any home, during this Holiday Season. “We have invited many local artists for our ‘Small Treasures’ show, including Michael Prevart, Pati Bruce, Anna T. Kelly, Larry Cannon and Chuck Kovacic to name a few,” stated Gallery owner Laurie Hendricks. “At this time of the year people are looking for something special for themselves or for friends and family, I call it art therapy for a difficult time.”

There are paintings and watercolors of many local scenes including Fair Oaks Pharmacy, Pasadena City Hall, and the Arroyo Bridge, as well as views from the Santa Monica beach to hills of Eaton Canyon. There will be an artists’ reception this Saturday, December 12th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Laurie Hendricks Gallery on Mission Street. Visitors will be able to sip champagne while browsing the art.

Looking for a special gift and want something different for that certain someone, the Holiday Boutique at the Laurie Hendricks Gallery is sure to have a gift you will not find anywhere else. In addition to their fine art paintings, sculptures and limited edition prints, their Holiday Boutique features jewelry, ceramics, fabric art, greeting cards, handmade bags and more. “We like to have special treats for the Holidays,” says Hendricks, “many of our friends are artists and we enjoy showing their one-of-a-kind works.”

The Holiday Boutique has unique Button Bracelets from fashion designer Karolyn Kiisel. In addition, she has handcrafted silk nesting boxes that are a fine gift for those on your list. Amy Medina, from neighboring Highland Park, makes pottery that would look good in any of the fine Craftsman homes we have in our town. Lee Kissik Kantor creates unique, hand-crafted necklaces including semi-precious stones, and beads from around the world. Hillary Heydle has brought in her exquisite handcrafted jewelry that includes bracelets, necklaces and earrings. The bronze pieces are all shaped by hand and include beautiful designs at reasonable prices. Laurie Hendricks is showing gift cards and small prints made with images of her paintings.
