The Sierra Madre Playhouse received two Ovation Awards from the Los Angeles Stage Alliance earlier this week. The prestigious awards are among the most significant recognitions bestowed on Los Angeles-area theatre.

Sierra Madre Playhouse’s winners include Stanton Kane Morales for Featured Actor in a Musical (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) and John Vertrees and Erin Walley for Scenic Design in an Intimate Theatre (Deathtrap).

Also receiving Ovation Award nominations: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Best Production of a Musical in an Intimate Theatre); Cristina Gerla (Featured Actress in a Musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee); and Candace Cain (Costume Design in an Intimate Theatre, The Glass Menagerie).
