The Junior League of Pasadena Inc., (JLP) will hold its annual Simply Speaking silent auction and dinner on April 29, 2017. Proceeds from the event will support the JLP’s community outreach initiatives and charitable efforts in Pasadena and the surrounding communities. During the evening’s program, the JLP will present awards to two local women who have made an impact on the community.

Mary Donnelly-Crocker, Executive Director of Young and Healthy, will be honored with the Community Impact Award, having devoted 35 years to improving the lives of children in the community. In addition to her role with Young and Healthy, Ms. Donnelly-Crocker partners with other non-profits to develop connections between diverse organizations and make our community a better place.

The Nancy Reed Payne Award will be given to Georgianna Erskine. She has been with the JLP for over 50 years and served as one of the first docents for the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens. Ms. Erskine is a supporter of many Pasadena organizations, including Descanso Gardens, the Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena, the Pasadena Arts Council, and the Pasadena Symphony.

“Both Mary and Georgie give so much of their time and talent to the Pasadena community,” says Jennifer Allan Goldman, President of the JLP. “Awarding them the Community Impact Award and the Nancy Reed Payne Award is our way of honoring their contributions to the local area and their tireless efforts to make it a better place for everyone. We are delighted to celebrate these extraordinary women at Simply Speaking.”

This is the JLP’s fourth annual Simply Speaking event. This year’s fete will be held at the La Canada Country Club and in addition to the presentation of awards, will feature a keynote address by fashion designer Trina Turk, a silent auction, cocktail hour and dinner, entertainment provided by local musicians trioKait and the comedy group The BreakWomb.
