One of San Marino’s premiere social events, “Delicious Destinations,” returns Saturday, October 15th at 6:00 p.m.

The evening’s festivities are the work of the San Marino Public Library Foundation, the volunteer library support group whose major fundraising event benefits the Crowell Public Library, City of San Marino.

“Personally, I’m very excited about this year’s destinations,” said Foundation Board President Steve Domier. “After our last event, we conducted a poll and asked the community to weigh in on our next destinations, and Mexico and Japan were the clear favorites. Our decorating team, led by Gabriella Crowell, will once again transform the library into two magical destinations.”

“Our annual event is a great way for the community to get together to see old friends, enjoy a wonderful evening of food, drink and entertainment, and generously raise money to support our local library. Plus, it’s the one time all year when you can talk as loud as you want in the library!”

As its name suggests, “Delicious Destinations” will feature food and drink from the two countries, including sushi offerings and tequila tasting.

The event’s MC will be author and TV personality Eric Boardman (Food Network’s “Calling All Cooks”).

“We’re very excited to have the multi-talented Eric Boardman back as our M.C. this year,” said Board President Domier. “He hosted our event a few years ago and was a huge hit with everyone, so we were thrilled when he agreed to return this year. With his extensive background in entertainment and culinary arts, he’s the perfect choice to host our fundraiser.”

The evening’s fundraising auction items will include:
• One week in a Cayman Islands vacation home
• VIP passes to MOCA
• A Broad Museum experience, including a meal at a Patina Group restaurant
• SoulCycle classes
• A formal Bradford portraiture
• Week-long vacation at 5-star Royal Islander Resort in Cancun

Funds raised during the evening will go towards the acquisition of equipment that will enable self-checkout and enhanced tracking of library materials.

Tickets cost $125 and are available at Crowell Public Library or on line at www.deliciousdestinations.com.
